Atlanta native, Devonte “Vitamin D” Evans, has had a passion for art since childhood. With a desire to express his love for art, Vitamin D would often dabble in drawing and later his second love, music- which ultimately led him to writing songs and poetry.

Stepping out of the shadow, in 2011 Vitamin D entered the literary-arts stage with his debut book of poetry, A Source of Vitamin D, a Poetic Prescription- a collection of poems providing strength and enrichment to readers’ soul, while sending poetry lovers on a journey filled with laughter, surprises and moments of soul searching. As a new author on the poetry scene, Vitamin D shared with readers his personal journey and some of his life experiences.

In 2013, Vitamin D followed his debut poetry title with its continuation, A Source of Vitamin D, a Poetic Refill. In his second literary title, Vitamin D exhibits growth as a writer.

A Source of Vitamin D, a Poetic Refill offers a unique touch, lyrics, to songs showcasing his love and appreciation for instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody- music.

His art of rhythmical composition gives rhyme and reason to everyday life struggles.

Following nearly four years of entertaining poetry lovers, Vitamin D was bestowed the honor of being crowned the 2015 GANSPA Award Winner in the category of Up and Coming Poet- Male. Vitamin D won, unanimously, in a competition with other successful, well-known poets. 

Having a true heart of charity and kindness, Vitamin D lives by the motto, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” He gives back to the community as part of the, Love Movement, a social service organization that aids those in need by providing food, and barbering, styling, and grooming services. 

Vitamin D catchphrase, and slogan, "Spit That P...Poetry that is", has become popular on the poetry scene. He continues to celebrate and enjoy life, while performing at various venues throughout Georgia.

When Vitamin D is not performing, he enjoys spending time with his three daughters.
